Rhythm rules

Learn the core rules of a NoteFlame run.

Understand the highway, notes, timing, combo, health, scoring, and difficulties before you jump into a song.

★NoteFlame is a browser rhythm game inspired by guitar-style music games. Notes travel down the highway toward the timing line, and your goal is to hit them at the right moment.
★A strong run means hitting notes cleanly, keeping combo alive, avoiding misses, surviving the health bar, and finishing with the best score you can.

The note shape tells you whether you need to strum or only press the matching fret.

Strum required

A full colored note. Hold the matching fret and strum when it reaches the timing line.

Combo 1+

A full white note. If your combo is 1 or higher, you do not need to strum. Just press the matching fret as it crosses the timing line.

No strum

A note with only a lane-colored outline. No strum required — just press the matching fret on time.

★NoteFlame has three visual note types. The shape tells you whether you need to strum or only press the matching fret.

★Hold notes are long notes that you press and keep holding until the note ends.
★Dropping a hold note too early can hurt your combo run and reduce your score potential.
